Methodology

How we score roofing software.

Every platform on this site is scored using the same fixed rubric. Weights are public, inputs are documented, and rankings are updated quarterly. We don't take vendor input on scores, and vendors can't buy placement.

The five axes.

Each platform is scored 0–10 on each axis. The overall score is a weighted average using the percentages below.

  1. 01
    Speed to Quote

How fast a contractor can go from initial measurement to a polished, sendable proposal in front of the homeowner.

  2. 02
    Mobile UX

Usability of the mobile experience in the field — measuring, quoting, photo capture, and customer signature on a phone or tablet.

  3. 03
    Pricing Transparency

How clearly the vendor publishes its pricing. Per-proposal, flat, or seat-based pricing all score higher than hidden, sales-gated pricing.

    Ease of Setup

How quickly a new contractor can go from sign-up to first proposal sent — measured in minutes, hours, or days.

    Customer Support

Quality and responsiveness of human support — measured through published response-time SLAs, support channels, and customer-reported experience.

How we keep it honest.

Same rubric, every platform. The five axes and their weights are fixed for the calendar year. We don't change weights to advantage a given product mid-cycle.

Public weights. The rubric is published on this page. You can re-compute any product's score yourself from the axis values shown on its review page.

Quarterly refresh. Rankings are revisited every quarter. Pricing changes, product launches, and field reports get folded into the next refresh — not retroactively.

No paid placement.Vendors can't buy a higher ranking, period. Affiliate relationships, where they exist, do not affect scores or order.
